Expand Your Palate: Asian Coffees from Commercial to Exceptional

£20.00

20th November, 5:30 - 7:30pm

Thomson’s Coffee
196-200 Gallowgate
Glasgow
G1 5DR

We’re thrilled to partner with IndoChina, Osito and YD Selects at Thomson’s Gallowgate for a cupping of Asian coffees, from borderline specialty to high specialty lots. Tasting a range of coffees is the best way to calibrate on quality and open your palate up to the flavours possible from this underappreciated coffee region.

Here’s what we’ll do:

  • Cup the range. Work through a curated lineup using the SCA Descriptive Form (no experience necessary), then compare notes with the group.

  • Hunt the defects. We’ll plant a few defects on the table. Can you spot them? 👀

  • Test your skills. We’ll finish with a triangulation challenge to see how sharp your palate really is.

Why join? Building sensory skills is much easier alongside others. You’ll sharpen your sense of flavour and quality, expand your tasting vocabulary, and leave with more confidence in your cupping. We welcome all skill and experience levels. Having diversity of experience around the table helps generate learning opportunities for us all.

Limited tickets available. We keep numbers low to create a calm, focused environment so that you can tune into your senses.
